What a move out clean covers, room by room

An empty house is harder to clean than a full one. With the furniture gone there is nothing to hide behind, and every mark on a wall or ring in a cabinet is suddenly obvious. That is exactly what a landlord or a buyer walks in and sees.

Kitchen

This is where move out cleans are won or lost. Cabinets get emptied and wiped inside and out, including the tops of doors. The oven gets cleaned inside. The fridge gets cleaned inside and pulled out so the floor underneath is done. Range hoods, drawer runners, and the gap beside the dishwasher all get attention.

Bathrooms

• Tub, shower, and door tracks scrubbed down to the grout
• Toilet cleaned including the base and the bolt caps
• Vanity emptied and wiped inside
• Mirrors, fixtures, and exhaust fan covers

Everywhere else

Baseboards, door frames, switch plates, and closet shelving get wiped. Windows get done inside, along with sills and tracks. Floors get vacuumed and mopped last, once the dust from everything above has settled.

The parts people forget

Ceiling fan blades, the inside of the washer and dryer, garage floors, and the patio door track. None of them take long, and all of them get noticed on a walkthrough.
